Immediate Loading in Implant Dentistry - Coherent Clinical Application in Everyday Practice
Henry Salama, DMD
Dr. Henry Salama will utilize research data on bone biology and biomechanics around implants to suggest treatment planning parameters for well organized team logistics and clinical management of both surgical and restorative protocols to minimize risk factors and optimize successful outcomes. In addition, Digital imaging, CAD/CAM and temporization will be especially emphasized.

Brilliant Implant Esthetics - Innovative Soft-Tissue Shaping and Prosthetic Socket Preservation
Paul Weigl, DDS
A great challenge in implantology today is a predictable, long lasting pink esthetic result. However, constant removing and replacement of multiple prosthetic components has been proven to initiate vertical soft tissue loss. Therefore, a "one abutment-one time" concept is the preferred choice for maintaining the hard and soft tissues around implants. A new concept of "Prosthetic socket preservation" utilized at the time of extraction will also be highlighted that simulates an intentional tooth re-implantation only without the root. This presentation will demonstrate a workflow for oral surgeons, prosthodontists and dental technicians to achieve a predictable midfacial soft tissue level by an effective and atraumatic protocol.

Dentsply Summit by the Sea 2009 - Free on DentalXP
Focusing on tissue wellness in implant dentistry and long-term esthetic effects, these video courses provide an emphasis on clicnical concepts, paying particular attention to:
- understanding how control of the tissue form, thickness and color can be achieved to create an esthetic implant supported restoration.
- exploring how the coordination of the implant design, abutment/implant interface and the final restoration impact the esthetic outcome.
- demonstrating how a narrow body, two-piece internally hexed implant, combined with immediate provisionalization can produce functional, stable esthetic results.
- evaluating the scientific evidence for mechanical and biologic stability comprising the "tissue care" concept.
- assessing how the understanding of soft and hard tissue preservation, the biomechanical implant tissue stability and the impact of implant micro/macro design features combine to create a functional and esthetic outcome even for the most demanding patients.
