Smoking - A Risk Factor for Periodontal Disease (in Spanish)
Tobacco is a major risk factor in the development and severity of periodontal disease, as well as in the response to periodontal therapy. It is essential that methods be employed to increase awareness of the adverse effects on the oral cavity directly related to smoking, specifically the relationship between the latter and its impact on periodontal tissue.

Periodontal Probing: Probe Tip Diameter
Background: Periodontal probing is one of the most common methods used in diagnosing periodontal disease. The purpose of this study was to determine the importance of the diameter of periodontal probing tips in diagnosing and evaluating periodontal disease. Clinical and Microbiological Effects of Local Tetracycline Irrigation on Periodontitis
This investigation was conducted on seven individuals referred for treatment of moderate adult periodontitis. Twenty-eight sites with an average probing depth of 5.6 ± 0.9 mm were evaluated.
